Final Project Part 3
These are my newest designs. I think the wings are my favorite so far out of all of them. I am aiming to get all the design layouts and then add more details or changes based on feedback. Therefore, I haven't improved upon my last designs yet. Because I have been having trouble making the calligraphy as pretty as I wanted, I practiced tracing some fonts instead to give it a more handwritten feel. Also, I have learned a lot more about tracing and building shapes. I look forward to hearing your comments.

Final Project Part 2
These are two designed I drew myself. I added texture to the backgrounds, practiced with the calligraphy brushes. The designs lack depth, which I am to sure how to fix.
This is one I really like. First I used a photograph (from pixabay) and used the watercolor effect on it and changed the tones. Then, because my hand was getting cramped from all the calligraphy, I used a font on this one. I liked using the photograph because I do not know enough about shading and three dimensions to give my other pictures much depth.
For the feather, I also used a photo from pixabay (first I tried tracing a feather and drawing a feather and it was not going well) and used a colored pencil effect. Then I changed the opacity to make it more faded in the back and added the text on top. Somehow the art board is extended on the bottom, which I will fix later

Final Project Sketches
For my final project, I felt inspired to make an art book based on Bible scriptures. Faith is a big part of who I am and how I relate to others. I sketched out eight designs. I tend to like a simplistic layout, so I have one major design aspect with the scriptures around it. I may try doing my own calligraphy, and will most likely give it a try, but go with fonts if it isn't going well. I am also looking forward to using more of the brushes for texture. Some of the image is cut off because the drawing paper I bought was bigger than my scanner.
The first set of four drawings is
a cup: O Lord You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup Psalm 16:5
willow tree: That Christ may dwell in your hearts through fatih, being rooted and grounded in love Ephesians 3:17
wings : Because you have been by help, Therefore in the shadow of your winds I will rejoice Psalm 63:7
olive wreath: You will keep him in perfect peace chose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3
The second set is:
A Bird: Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sown nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Matthew 6:26
Waves: Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterfalls, all your waves and billows have gone over me Psalm 42:7
Feather: He shall cover you with His feathers and under his wings you will take refuge Psalm 91:4
Mosaic Heart: Create in me a pure heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me Psalm 51:10

Design Competition
I will be entering the International Compost Awareness Week poster contest. This competition is sponsored by the Composting Council. The purpose is to design a poster to promote the benefits of composting.
Entrants must use the words: "Compost! Healthy Soil, Healthy Food," and "International Compost Awareness Week, May 7-13, 2017."
My design is depicting how compost under the ground benefits the vegetables growing in the ground. The stems are hard to see in my sketch, but they make a Rx design to symbolize that compost is the prescription for healthy food.
The poster must be original artwork, no larger than 12" x 17" and 300 dpi, jpeg format.

I will primarily be using Illustrator, but will most likely use Photoshop as well, since the guidelines of this assignment is to use two applications. If I can find something more suitable other than photoshop, I will use that instead because I am not interested in using a photo for my poster. If anyone has ideas for other applications, or other ways to incorporate Photoshop, I would appreciate it
